Jay k. Filler, Jr. is a 1975 graduate of Drake University with a Bachelors degree in Public Administration. He graduated from the Loyola University School of Law with a Juris Doctor in 1979.
Jay came to Marengo in 1980, practicing with Thomas W. Schmitt and Herbert Franks. Jay has practiced and lived in Marengo since that time.
Jay has participated in literally thousands of real estate transactions, both commercial and residential. Along with real estate transactions, Jay has been involved in numerous zoning petitions, subdivisions and real estate exchanges.
Loyola Law School has a reputation of producing trial lawyers, and Jay has used that training to his clients' advantage in hundreds of trials. Whether criminal, business, family, or personal injury, Jay has tried and won cases for his clients
Jay has always felt practicing law should be more than just business. Marengo is a small town, which gives him the opportunity to both know his clients better, and for his clients to know his reputation better. Jay takes pride in the number of Marengo residents he has as clients, as well as the number of clients from the surrounding area who have been referred to him.
